What are you waiting for? Make a game as simple as this one.
Hat tip to Kottke.org. Do they still do hat tips?
He shared this incredibly simple browser game. Just press start and try to open the for before it hits zero. It will give you a score and let you know when you reach a new high score. That's it. That's the game. No bells and whistles. No leaderboards. No narrative. Just a mystery microwave and you.
I love browser games. I think because I've been a cubicle jockey for most of my career. Browser games have saved my brain from dying in-between projects and work. My go-to for the past few years has been Cookie Clicker.
This isn't a long rant about why I love these games. It's simple. They're simple, short, easy to learn (usually), and hard to master (usually). I don't do well with long ass games. I'm forty-one! I have Palworld, Ace Attorney Trilogy, Space Marine 2, and Frostpunk just sitting on my PS5.
They only I've even played more than an hour is Frostpunk, and I don't play that long because the decisions about child labor makes me sad!
And I don't want sadness. I want clicking. I want idle games. I want something I can hide at a moment's notice. I want your oh so simple it's dumb games!
